Physiotherapy Seminar

 

Aim of the module: To train students in group exercise, in scientific search and dissemination of scientific knowledge, enabling students in delving deeper into fields of scientific interest, based on research principles. Primary aim of the seminar is the acquisition of communication skills with the scientific staff as well as with clinical therapists for the presentation, analysis and promotion of evidence based knowledge that will contribute in the improvement of health and rehabilitation fields.

Student aims: With the successful fulfillment of the module the student will be capable of:

1. working within a group, study, substantiate and present a thematic unit based on the principles of scientific methodology.
2. Presenting with critical analysis and thinking in written and oral language the projects assumed.
3. Sreading their findings, as well as the knowledge and reasoning gained in a specialized or non specilised audience with clarity and competence.
4. Learning with a way that allows them in a significant level to continue studying in a self-directed, autonomous manner

 

Content: Within the moduel the following thematic units will be developed:

Organisation of scientific events (topics, scientific comiitees, badget etc.) Projection and advertising techniques. Tecniques of oral presentation. Techniques of electronic and document presentation (webpage construction, publisher etc.). Lifelong learning and quality assurance. Quality assurance of educational procedures , electronic means of teaching/lecturing.

The lecturer determines the topic of occupation for MSc students, for the specific semester, that will cover the students’ scientific interests, as well as the scientific requirments of Physiotherapy field in the specific time period. The MSc students under the supervision of their Lecturer assume to determine the individual topics of the topic of occupation by fully covering the scientific demands. Within groups under supervision, they assume to develop the individual topic and present it in a written and oral manner. The development of individual topics, for each student will be based on the location of reseach findings and publications in the field, in combination with their crtical analysis, so as to help the most up to date trends of scientific activity to emerge. The final result will be the presentation of scientific events (one, two –day conferences, seminars electronic or study publication) with the scientific and organizational responsibility of MSc students, which will end in their oral assessment.

 

Lecturing methods and means: 13 weeks Χ 2 hours theory and 1 hour exercise practice θεωρία

Assesment methods: Students’ assessment will be a quotient of their mark in oral examinations as well as their performance in their written projects.
