Irini Patsaki, PT, MSc, PhD, is Assistant Professor in Clinical Respiratory and Cardiovascular Physiotherapy at the Department of Physiotherapy, University of West Attica, Athens, Greece. She has been previously clinically employed in the General Hospital of Athens Greece “Evaggelismos” as an ICU Physiotherapist for more than 10 years. Has completed her doctoral studies at the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on the rehabilitation of critical ill patients. Her main research interest is located in the muscular weakness of the ICU, techniques and means of its prevention and rehabilitation. But also in respiratory and early rehabilitation of the critically ill and the application of new technologies. She has authored a number of peer reviewed publications and book chapters (Google scholar: h-index:6, citations:260). She has numerous oral/poster presentations in National and European conferences. She has been invited as a speaker and a clinical educator in European and National Conferences. She has been a member of the board of the Panhellenic Physiotherapists’ Association Section of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy – Rehabilitation since 2016 and the board of the European Weaning & Rehabilitation in Critically Ill Patients Committee. She is being a member of the Laboratory of Advanced Physiotherapy of the Department of Physiotherapy, University West Attica and the Clinical Ergospirometry, Exrecise and Rehabilitation of the Department of Athens Medical School.
